Luca Ieracitano

Born in Torino in 1978, Luca Ieracitano took his first piano lessons when he was seven years old and he graduated magna cum laude at the Conservatory “G. Verdi” of his city. With the support of "De Sono" Association of Torino, he followed piano masterclasses with Maria Tipo, Andrea Lucchesini, Pietro De Maria and chamber music with Mario Brunello, Altenberg Trio Wien, Günter Pichler, Dora Schwarzberg, Frans Helmerson, Enrico Dindo, Enrico Bronzi.

He obtained prizes in many international competitions: as soloist “Gante Prize” in Pordenone and “Schumann Prize” in Pistoia; for chamber music he got  prizes at “Sandro Fuga Competition” in Torino, at “City of Pinerolo Competition” and “Enrica Cremonesi Prize” in Milano.

He has recitals in Italy and abroad. Particularly interested in chamber and contemporary music, he is invited by many important festivals such Unione Musicale and Lingotto Musica of Torino, GIA of Brescia, Società dei Concerti of Prato, Fondazione “I Teatri” of Reggio Emilia, Viotti Festival of Vercelli. He played with Orchestra Nazionale della RAI for Festival Rai Nuova Musica. Recentely he performed in Japan at the Tokyo Jazz Festival with Richard Galliano and Orchestra Camerata Ducale.

In 2011 Luca Ieracitano has interpreted “Stop, Repair, Prepare: Variations on Ode to Joy for a prepared piano”, a performance by the artists Jennifer Allora and Guillermo Calzadilla, in Castello di Rivoli - Contemporary Art Museum. He will perform the work soon in Bruxelles.

He is regularly invited as accompanist pianist by many important institutions such Palazzo Ricci (Europäische Akademie für Musik und Darstellende Kunst). He worked in the masterclasses of Nobuko Imai, Douglas Bostock and Enrico Dindo.
