mdi ensemble and Accademia Filarmonica Romana promote for the first time NEWMUSIC WEEK, a new initiative dedicated to contemporary music. It consists of a week-long workshop, from May 20th to 25th 2019, including several courses organized in two main areas:
1 – Two international composition master classes.
2 – An instrumental music master class focused on contemporary music techniques in solo and chamber music repertoire from c.a. 1940 to nowadays.
For the 2019 edition, the teaching composers will be Beat Furrer and Simone Movio.
The instrumental music master class will be held by mdi ensemble members, who will teach both solo and chamber music repertoire.
The activities for composers and instrumentalists are thought to come together in various Public performances which will take place in the prestigious Casella Hall at Accademia Filarmonica Romana. The programs of these events (lunch and evening concerts) will feature, among others, works by composers attending the Composition master class and music by Beat Furrer and Simone Movio. The concerts will be performed by students from the Instrumental music master class together with members of mdi ensemble. In this way, young instrumentalists will experiment professional relationship with renowned composers and how to work side by side with young composers.
The performance of May 24th will be dedicated to Beat Furrer.
Application deadline for partecipants is expired.
