A concert as a collective project

On December 13th at the Teatro Arsenale, Matteo Manzitti will present the outcome of a unique artistic co-creation project. Born within the Echi Urbani festival in Varese and titled “Scrivere suoni tra laghi e corti” (writing sounds between lakes and courtyards), the project is the result of encounters between professional musicians and local communities, and features the Cooperativa Lotta contro l’Emarginazione (Derive e Approdi project and SAI Besozzo e Comerio project) and the Varese Prison. The sound portraits presented in the concert represent the stories of seven people, who were asked to tell their stories through a collection of graphic, verbal, and audio stimuli. These were then translated into a coherent musical work for violin and cello, in a process that intertwines social awareness, linguistic experimentation, and contemporary music. This is an opportunity to listen live to works born from the dialogue between genres and people, designed to engage both contemporary music experts and those experiencing it for the first time.
